Let there be pie or "Canned Heat"

Some cool things happen in Ontario in the fall; the leaves turn colours, the weather becomes crisp and cool, and all the food that was harvested just a short time ago turns into pie, wonderful PIE!!!

Mary & I rented a car this weekend and we "goin up to country" to a farm to see what pies we could get. And pies we got, caramel-apple and apple crumble along with some jams, mustard and horse raddish. What a haul. After a quick 1/2hr on the farm, we were about to turn back for the city, but instead we decided "have car, will travel" so we just started driving. I'm not sure where we inteded to get to, but we eventually found the Caledon Badlands, (scroll down to see the right pic) vastly different (but in someways similar) from the badlands that Jeffie-boy got to experience during his lengthier road trip. Anyway, turned out to be really cool, wish we had brought the camera, but oh well.

Travelling further along we got some great vistas of leaves turning wonderful colours and ended up in the antiqueing mecca of Belfountain. They were selling sweets there too, which I could have gone for, but the line-up was particularly long so we just looked around, some nice stuff, some strange, and other just old stuff that belongs at a garage sale but they call it antique so they can sell it at a higher price.

After that, more great vistas of the rolling hills & the leaves and then back to the reality of civilization where we had to do some shopping.

All in all a great weekend, thanks to pie!!
